Most warts and verrucas will eventually clear up without treatment. Speak to your pharmacist about over-the-counter treatments. Make an appointment if you’re not sure whether a lump is a wart, pharmacy treatments haven’t worked or you have lots of warts or get warts frequently.
Prior to being booked in for the wart removal clinic, you need to arrange a routine appointment with a GP to assess your skin lesion and if it is appropriate you will be referred to Dr Coles monthly cryotherapy clinic where he can try to freeze the wart off with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy). This will take a number of sessions and can be painful. It can also sometimes lead to blistering, infection and scarring.
