The staff and patients at Lawrence hill are so welcoming and I enjoy the variety working in general practice offers. When I am not working I spend the rest of my time caring for and playing with my 3 young children. I enjoy sewing, baking and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Jack Ogden
I trained at Bristol Medical School before completing my GP training in local hospitals. I have also worked in the Community Diabetes Service in Wiltshire and continue to be interested in diabetes. I am particularly interested in the lifestyle changes that we can make to improve both medical conditions such as diabetes but also our general health. I also do research at the University of Bristol in Medical Ethics. When I am not working as a GP I enjoy cycling and rock climbing.

Dr. Claire Hawcroft
I joined Lawrence Hill in January 2019 after completing my GP training in Bristol. I studied medicine in London and worked there for a few years afterwards. I’m passionate about community-based medicine and am enjoying getting to know our diverse patient population. I love the variety of general practice but particularly enjoy women’s health and elderly care. I also have an interest in global health, having undertaken additional training in tropical medicine and spent time working in South Africa. I spend some of my time doing teaching and research at the University of Bristol, looking into the impact of domestic violence on women’s health. Outside of work I love to travel and keep active through yoga, cycling and hiking

I started working as a GP trainee at Lawrence Hill 10 years ago and I have worked here on and off since, but I am excited to now be joining as a permanent member of the team. Alongside working in practice, I have also had other roles as an acute medical GP and am currently at the BNSSG referral service. I have a previously completed my family planning and sexual health diploma and am excited to start developing a specialist interest in the menopause. Outside of working I enjoy walking my dog and gardening.

I joined Lawrence Hill in December 2023, and I’m absolutely delighted to be working with this fantastic team. I studied medicine in London and worked there for a few years afterwards before moving to Bristol to complete my GP training. I love all aspects of being a GP, and particularly enjoy working in inner city Bristol. I also have a teaching role with the university of Bristol, and love supporting our doctors-to-be to reach their full potential, and hopefully encourage them to embark on a career in primary care! Outside of work, I have three young children and a very soppy dog who keep me busy!
