Checking your blood pressure

High blood pressure, or hypertension, rarely has noticeable symptoms. But if untreated, it increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.

Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many will not realise it.

The only way to find out if your blood pressure is high is to have your blood pressure checked.

Where to check my blood pressure?

Many of our local pharmacies are able to check your blood pressure. Contact the green pharmacies on the map for more information.

If you have a blood pressure monitor at home, then you can complete a series of readings for us to review. Please check your blood presssure twice a day for a week and write down these readings. You can hand these into reception for our team to review.

There is more information here about using your blood pressure monitor at home.
